Last night we crossed the River Plata from Buenos Aris and docked today in Montevideo, the Capital of Uruguay. We visited some of the highlights of this small city, starting at Independence Square with it’s statue of Artigas. Next we went to the Parliament. Across the road from the Parliament was a park with wall murals of some of the famous cultural people of Uruguay. Next we went to the Mercado Agricola a restored building selling agricultural products. We stopped at the Ox Cart monument and finally visited the Pittamiglio Castle where we enjoyed a tango show.
