The Palomino Islands were our destination today. They lie just off the coast of Callao where we are docked. The islands are in the Humboldt current and thus support sea life such as the Humboldt Penguins, Brown Pelicans and Sea Lions. The area is very picturesque with it’s barren and rocky cliffs, some of which are covered with vast amounts of bird guano that are harvested and sold.
