On This Day . . .
On March 5, 2018, we arrived in Manila in the Philippines for a 2 day stay. The first day we went to Tagaytay, to view the smallest volcano in the world -- Taal Volcano. The Taal Volcano is best described as a volcano within a lake within a larger volcano.
After an hour and a half drive we stopped at the Tagaytay Flower and Fruit Markets. There was also a general market selling all sorts of goods.
Nestled in a secluded corner of Tagaytay Ridge, about 2,250 feet above sea level, is timelessly-modern and very beautiful Taal Vista Hotel, where we stopped to view this sight and have lunch. After lunch we returned to the ship with a panoramic tour of the Intramuros district, driving past Rizal Park, Fort Santiago, the Manila Cathedral and San Augustin Church.
