On This Day . . .
On February 21, 2018, we sailed up Princess Royal Harbor and docked at Albany in Western Australia. Albany is the oldest continuous settlement in Western Australia, and was founded in 1826, three years before Perth. Today we took a tour that started out at the Mt Clarence Lookout. From here we could look out on the picturesque harbor, the Amsterdam moored below and the Desert Corps War Memorial. From here we went to the Albany Wind Farm to get a close up view of the giant turbines. Our last stop was at the Oranje Tractor Farm and Winery where we had a pairing of wines and home grown food.
