On This Day . . .
On February 13, 2018 We sailed into Hobart in Tasmania, Australia. Hobart is the capital of the state of Tasmania and has many old and historic buildings most of which were near where we docked, Macquarie Wharf No2.
It was only a 10 minute walk to the city center. There is an inner harbor where many of the local fishermen moor their boats and serve fish and chips right off the boats. We spent the morning walking around the town and in the afternoon we took a tour to Richmond, Australia's most delightful Georgian village, that was established in 1825. There was the old restored Gaol (jail) that was also built in 1825. The other highlight was the stone bridge and St. John's Church.
On the way back to the ship we stopped at the Puddle Duck Winery.
