On This Day . . .
On February 10, 2018, we passed under the Sydney harbor bridge and went to our mooring at White Bay. White Bay is a fair distance from the city center so a shuttle bus was provide to take us to Darling Harbor, where other transportation around the city can be found. At Darling Harbor we booked a two day pass on the Sydney Harbor Express, a hop on hop off boat. On the boat we passed under the bridge again viewing some of our shipmates doing a bridge climb to the top. Our first stop was at Fort Denison a small fort in the middle of the harbor. It was built in the 1800’s when they thought they might be invaded by the Russians. It was occupied during WWII and is now just a tourist area. After touring the harbor we got off at the Watson Bay terminal and walked up to the South Head Cliffs, the entrance to the harbor. Here were some great panoramic views of the Sydney skyline. We had lunch here at the famous Doyles Fishermans Restaurant. The we returned to Darling Harbor and then back to the ship.
