On This Day . . .
On January 9, 2018, we entered the Panama Canal at 7:00am and started our 10 hour journey to the Pacific Ocean. The Gutan Locks, a series of 3, took about an hour and a half and let us out in Gutan Lake. On this day the bow was open so we could see the 2018 Grand World Voyage logo that is painted just below the bridge.
At 12:30pm we passed Gamboa, the maintenance area for the canal. We proceed under the Centennial Bridge and then entered the Pedro Miguel Locks at 1:30pm.
We then sailed into the Miraflores Locks at 2:30pm and at 3:30pm were passing the 5 story visitor center. At 4:00pm we passed under the Bridge of the Americas and were at our anchorage in Fuente Amador at 5:00pm, where we spent the night.
