Our second day in Singapore, March 10, 2017, was spent in the Marina Bay area, which includes the Singapore River and Marina Bay. To get to Boat Quay, on the Singapore River we took the metro which is modern and very easy to use. Once above ground we went along the river towards Marina Bay, where the city’s iconic monument the Merlion over looks the bay. The bay has many attractions situated on its shores like the Marina Bay Sands and the Singapore Flyer. Returning along the river walk, we passed statues depicting life here both past and present.
