On This Day . . .

On February 2, 2017, we docked inside the lagoon on an atoll in the Marshall Islands near the town of Majuro. We took a shuttle into town provided by the community using small vans and school buses. Majuro is a very small place with very warm and friendly people. The van left us off at a small park where there was a small craft market setup next to the Adele Museum which featured island history and examples of cocoanut fiber weaving. Also in the park there were some ladies demonstrating traditional dances and some high school kids that volunteered to help with information about their home and as a reward they were given a commemorative shirt. The day, although hot, was picture perfect.
