On April 1, 2016, We arrived in Salalah, the second largest city in Oman, located on the edge of the Oman Desert. We took a tour 100 Kilometers out of Salalah into the desert to the Khadaf dunes located at the edge of the Rub Al Khali Desert. Our guides and drivers were all Bedouins, who make their home here. We then proceeded out into the dunes and climbed some of them. After the dunes we then went to the Lost City of Ubar, a UNESCO Wold Heritage Site, that was built nearly 5,000 years ago. After touring the site we went to the Wadi Dawkah Natural park of Frankincense trees, a park dedicated to the maintaining of the Frankincense tree and its’ history. We returned to the ship and were treated to another marvelous sunset as we departed the port.
