On our second day we went into the city of Adelaide. To get into the center of town we took the metro train into town. The trip is about 45 minutes long. Once in town, we went to the Rundle Mall, a pedestrian promenade with shops and interesting buildings on each side. The cornerstone building of the mall is called the Beehive. There are also many other old Victorian buildings scattered throughout the mall. Along the promenade there were street vendors and performers. The Adelaide Arcade building was built in 1885 and has been beautifully restored and now houses over 100 specialty retail shops. The promenade also had different artwork and sculptures along the way. One was the Mall Pigs and another was 2 mirrored balls on top of each other. After an enjoyable afternoon we rebounded the train and returned to the ship.
