We reached Mauritius on March 23, 2014 and docked in the port of Port Louis. On this day we took a tour around the island with views of the rugged Moka Mountain peaks that popped out of the valley floor. We proceeded to the Great Basin where annual pilgrimages are made to a Hindu Temple and its lake which has water from the Ganges River. Leaving the Temple we then went to the Black River Gorges in the National Park of Mauritius and then the Seven Colors of Earth Nature Preserve. On our way back we continued to enjoy the views of the mountainous peaks from the highway.
