May 5, 2012 found us in the Azores on the Island of São Miguel in the port of Ponta Delgada. It was an overcast day and rain was forecasted, so we started out with our umbrellas ready. We left the cruise terminal, situated right in town, and walked up the hill to the Mercado (Market). From there we strolled Rua dos Mercadores to the City Gates, the Court House and Matriz São Sedastião (Church). We then traveled back to the ship via the waterfront and past the Telecommunication Building, before it started to rain.
