After a day at sea we landed on the island of Madeira. We docked in Funchal the Capital, where we decided to visit the Madeira Botanical Garden. The garden is situated up on a hillside. To get there we walked into town along the new waterfront promenade to the Cable car to Monte. We proceeded to take the cable car up to Monte. At Monte we walked over to another cable car which took us over and down to the Botanical Garden. We spent all morning viewing the various levels of the garden. After our visit, we retraced our steps back to Funchal and the ship. In the evening we went to dinner at the Almirante Restaurant.
