November 29th found us in Lisbon, which lies about 10 miles up the Tagus River. Our dock was on the east side of the city across from the Santa Apolonia train station, and easy access to the Metro, bus, and trolley system. Since we were here two days we got a 2 day public transportation pass. We started out on bus 28 to Praca do Comercio , the main square of the city. From there we walked up into the Baixa, via Rua Augusta and saw the Elevador Santa Justa along the way, to Praca do Rossio. After viewing the park we took a short jaunt to Praca da Figueira where we caught the #12 Trolley, which does a round trip circle through the Alfama. On Day 2, we took the Metro to Parque Eduardo VII, on the north side of town. We then returned to the Baxia and took the Elevador da Gloria to the Bairro Alto and the Miradouro de Alcantara. We sailed out of Lisbon just before dusk and passed the Monument to the Discoveries and the Belem Tower.
