Ponta Delgada is located on the island of Sao Miguel. Our tour took us to Furnas Valley & Hot Springs. We traveled to the north side of the island where we overlooked the rugged coast. We then went to the only tea plantation & factory in Europe. After leaving the plantation we drove to Furnas Valley, where there is many hot springs. Our lunch was cooked underground using geo-thermal energy. After lunch we drove to Vila Franca the original capital of Sao Miguel.
